The Civil Rights Division of the Miami-Dade Court System protects the political and social freedom of individuals. Civil rights ensure fair and equal treatment to all citizens. In 2021, the Miami-Dade Court System saw 367 civil rights cases filed. In 2022, the number of civil rights cases filed in the Court System decreased to 271. During this time, the majority of cases filed in the Miami-Dade Court System were related to employment discrimination.
