Eastern District of Oklahoma Court Records

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has jurisdiction over Adair, Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Cherokee, Choctaw, Coal, Haskell, Hughes, Johnston, Latimer, LeFlore, Love, McCurtain,McIntosh, Marshall, Murray, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Pittsburg, Pontotoc, Pushmataha, Seminole, Sequoyah, and Wagoner counties. The Eastern District was established in 1906, but became operational in 1907 when Oklahoma achieved statehood.

The Eastern District currently has two United States District Judges and two United States Magistrate Judges. In 1979 President Jimmy Carter appointed Judge Frank Howell Seay to the court, who was the first Native American appointed to any U.S. district court.

The E.D. Okla. is based out of the Ed Edmondson U.S. Courthouse at 101 North 5th Street, Muskogee, OK 74401.

Locating the court records you need for the Eastern District of Oklahoma from the Public Access to Court Electronic Records, or PACER, can be expensive, difficult, and time-consuming.

PACER charges 10 cents per page and claims that these fees are capped at $3, but they can be much higher for access to court transcripts.
