Among Am Law firms, there has been an ongoing, concerted effort for some time toward becoming more data-centric and data-driven. This has led many forward-thinking law firms to hire data scientists to use data for making better decisions about pricing, building better processes, predicting outcomes more effectively, and increasingly for marketing and business development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To provide valuable insights about one of the core use cases for the UniCourt Enterprise API, law firm business development, we partnered with Baretz+Brunelle\u2019s New Law team to conduct research on how Am Law firms are using data to win business from both existing and new clients and commissioned the report, \u201cMarching Toward Data-Driven Business Development: Industry Insights from Am Law CMOs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In developing this report, Baretz+Brunelle\u2019s New Law team, co-led by Brad Blickstein, interviewed members of the C-Suite at leading Am Law firms, including mostly chief marketing officers and chief marketing and business development officers, as well as a chief marketing and client development officer and a chief operating officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the interviews, which took place over Zoom from April to June 2023, Brad and his team asked the interviewees about the state of their use of both internal and external data sources across the business development function. They presented a series of yes\/no questions to the interviewees and followed up by asking for additional clarity into each question to uncover further insights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
