Legal analytics<\/a> are at the heart of innovation in legal technology, powering business development and competitive intelligence for law firms and other legal services providers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing the growing demand for reporting on litigation trends, UniCourt released our legal analytics dashboard<\/a> in 2019 to help legal professionals make more informed decisions. To illustrate what could be done with analytics, later in 2019 we kicked off our Leaders in Litigation series with a review of the top attorneys and law firms in the area of Labor litigation<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we are excited to carry that series forward, leveraging AI normalized court data from 2020 to showcase the top five plaintiff attorneys and law firms and the top five defense attorneys and firms with the highest case volumes in U.S. District Court across a spectrum of different practice areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our first report of the year, we’re featuring the top attorneys and law firms for all Labor litigation. This report is based on our classification of NOS Codes related to Labor litigation, which is considered distinct from Civil Rights litigation, such as Employment Discrimination and Employment Disability Discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Plaintiff Attorney Analytics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This month\u2019s top plaintiff attorney and leader in Labor litigation for 2020 is Josh Sanford<\/a> of Sanford Law Firm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Sanford is an employment litigation attorney focused largely on wage-and-hour law disputes. This includes litigating cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, and the Equal Pay Act. He was voted \u201cBest Attorney\u201d in a readers\u2019 poll published by The Courier <\/em>in Russellville, Arkansas, and has served as the President of the Pope County Bar Association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Sanford earned his JD at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is admitted to practice in eleven courts, including the Supreme Courts of Arkansas, Colorado, and Texas, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top plaintiff\u2019s attorney in Labor litigation for 2019 was Michael Antonio Faillace<\/a> of Michael Faillace & Associates<\/a>, who comes in second for 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honorable mentions for this month include Stephen J. Fields<\/a> of Fields Law Firm, and Michael A. Josephson<\/a> and Andrew W. Dunlap<\/a> of Josephson Dunlap Law Firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Plaintiff Law Firm Analytics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This month\u2019s top plaintiff law firm for Labor litigation in 2020 is the Arkansas-based Sanford Law Firm<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sanford firm is a small but prolific Little Rock operation focused on helping both plaintiffs and defendants navigate employment law issues. Specific cases run a gambit from wage and hour law disputes to FLSA violations, overtime issues, workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spot for top plaintiff\u2019s law firm in Labor litigation for 2019 was shared by Michael Faillace & Associates<\/a> and Morgan & Morgan<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honorable mentions for this month go to those same two firms, as well as newcomers the Fields Law Firm<\/a> and Josephson Dunlap Law Firm<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Defense Attorney Analytics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Keenan Ryan<\/a> of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is this month\u2019s top defense attorney for all Labor cases in 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ryan\u2019s nationally-focused litigation practice is prolific and diverse and focuses in large part on employee benefits disputes, consumer fraud, class actions, bad faith disputes, biometric privacy acts, corporate disputes, employment discrimination, IT software implementation disputes, securities fraud, and corporate dissolutions. He has appeared in courts ranging from the Seventh and Ninth Circuits to U.S. District Courts in more than thirteen states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ryan has been recognized by his peers as a \u201cLeading Lawyer\u201d in class actions and mass tort defense law and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for litigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veronica Thea von Grabow<\/a> of Jackson Lewis P.C. was the top defense attorney for all Labor cases in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
