{"id":2471,"date":"2020-08-12T06:07:36","date_gmt":"2020-08-12T14:07:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unicourt.com\/blog\/?p=2471"},"modified":"2021-11-16T00:38:39","modified_gmt":"2021-11-16T08:38:39","slug":"american-legal-technology-awards-finalist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unicourt.com\/blog\/american-legal-technology-awards-finalist\/","title":{"rendered":"UniCourt Announced as Finalist for the 1st Annual American Legal Technology Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are excited to share that UniCourt has been nominated and selected as a finalist for the Enterprise Award of the <a rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/americanlegaltechnology.com\/finalists-announcement\/\" target=\"_blank\">1st Annual American Legal Technology Awards<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-Founded by <a rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.palacelaw.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Patrick Palace<\/a>, Founder of Palace Law, <a rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/law.vanderbilt.edu\/bio\/caitlin-moon\" target=\"_blank\">Cat Moon<\/a>, Director of Innovation Design for the Program on Law and Innovation at Vanderbilt Law School, and <a rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/lawdroid.com\/#\" target=\"_blank\">Tom Martin<\/a>, Founder of LawDroid, the American Legal Technology Awards were established with the mission of holding up \u201cexamples of excellence in creative innovation and technology in the legal industry for the purposes of (1) expanding our understanding of what is possible, (2) encouraging a virtuous cycle of improvement, and (3) creating a more just society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, there are 8 categories of Awards being given: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Access to Justice &#8211; an organization or individual who has made a difference by helping the underserved access the legal system through the use of technology.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Startup &#8211; a legal technology startup company that has created a product or service that shows significant promise in providing outsize benefits to its users.<\/li><li>Enterprise &#8211; an established legal technology company that has successfully grown a product or service that demonstrates a unique and positive impact on its users.<\/li><li>Technology &#8211; a technology applied in a new or novel way in the legal industry that achieves a significant benefit.<\/li><li>Law Firm &#8211; a law firm that utilizes technology to exceed client expectations in a significant, measurable way.<\/li><li>Individual &#8211; an individual who has demonstrated success throughout their career in making a positive difference in the world as it related to legal technology.<\/li><li>Court &#8211; a court or judicial officer that displays outstanding use of technology that achieves a significant benefit to the public.<\/li><li>Law Department &#8211; a law department that uses an innovative approach to create significant efficiencies or a positive human impact.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As a leader in making court data more accessible and usable and the core infrastructure Fortune 500 companies and AmLaw firms use for API access to structured and normalized data, we\u2019re grateful to be recognized along with <a rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.legaldecoder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Legal Decoder<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litera.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Litera<\/a> as a finalist in the Enterprise Award category.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through our industry leading <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/unicourt.com\/features\/legal-data-api\" target=\"_blank\">Legal Data APIs<\/a>, we provide our clients with bulk access to the mountain of <a href=\"https:\/\/unicourt.com\/courts\/state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">state<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/unicourt.com\/courts\/federal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">federal (PACER) court data<\/a> generated everyday for business development and intelligence, analytics, machine learning models, process automation, background checks, investigations, and underwriting.
